𝗩𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 – 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗜 & 𝗜𝗜

An Intra Class Vocabulary Competition was organized on January 19, 2024 for the classes I & II.This competition was one of the numerous enjoyable competitions that give students a platform to learn spellings along with the meanings. Students participated earnestly in the competition and showcased their vocabulary skills.
Teachers facilitated the smooth organization and execution of the event. The HOS Ms. Sangeeta Choudhary, Academic Advisor Ms Sudesh Thakran and Ms. Ritu praised the students for their commendable efforts in Vocabulary Competition.
This competition helps students to improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn meanings and develop the use of English in their day to day life. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all.

𝐔𝐊𝐆 𝐀𝐃-𝐌𝐀𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Creativity without strategy is called art, creativity with strategy is called Advertising. The Ad Mad Show competition is the perfect platform to display that you have the knack to advertise and win hearts. With this thought in mind, an Ad-Mad Competition was held for the UKG students of Dwarka International School. Students presented Ads wherein they used their extraordinary skills and imagination to make it interesting. They were marked on the following criteria- Creativity, originality, content, confidence, expressions, costumes, and props. The excitement of the children reached sky-high level while preparing for the contest. It not only displayed their acting skills but also the impromptu ability to showcase their cognitive skills. All the classes came up with exhilarating performances. Certainly they enjoyed and learnt about the basics of the advertising world.

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words” – Robert Frost
The students of Class I and II of Dwarka International School enthusiastically participated in an interclass English Poetry Recitation Competition on December 28 and 29, 2023. The esteemed members of the management Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Choudhary and Mr. Rajbir Singh Gahlot (Director Academics) graced the occasion and inspired the students with their magnificent presence.
The competition not only provided the students with a platform to exhibit their talent and confidence but also inspired the budding poets and orators to come forward and recite on stage. The students came up with different poems on the topics Christmas, New Year, Seasons and Colours. The perfection of expressions, portrayal of thoughts, depiction of emotions, the rendition of rhythm and music stole the hearts of the audience.
The performances were assessed on the parameters of Use of Props, Voice Modulation, Content and Clarity of Speech. The efforts of students as well as teachers were acknowledged; they were urged to continue putting in their heart and soul into every activity they undertake.

Christmas Activity – Class I TO VIII

𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held on 22nd December 2023 for the tiny tots of Dwarka International School. Little ones came dressed in red. A special assembly was conducted in which they recited poems, danced and shared their views about the festival. The highlight of the day was the special visit of Santa Claus who brought cheer & laughter. He interacted with children and distributed candies & spread the magic of love & joy. Merriment was on the faces of our kindergarteners was truly heart warming. To celebrate the Christmas festival, cake cutting was also done by our Honourable Vice Chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary, Academic Advisor Ms Sudesh & Ms Ritu Thakran, Academic Director Mr Rajbir Singh Gahlot & Headmistress Ms Archana Rathi along with the kids and teachers. The event concluded with the blessings and wishes by the dignitaries. The day was filled with fun and frolic and everyone had a gala time.

𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐅 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘 – 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐀 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐀𝐓

To boost the culinary skills of our little chefs, Peanut masala chaat making activity was conducted at Dwarka International School. All the children brought the ingredients from their home. The aim of the activity was to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and explore new areas of interests. Children participated with full zeal and enthusiasm as they prepared yummy peanut masala chaat. It was a truly yummy yum day for the young master chefs.

Solo Dance Competition – Class IV

A Solo Dance Competition is one of the most sacred art forms. It’s a way to express your emotions and feelings without having to speak anything. Dance competition in a school is not just about the trophies – it is a highly rewarding and worthwhile activity for students of all ages. Keeping this in view an Inter House Solo Dance Competition was organized at DWARKA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL for students of class IV on 15 December 2023.

SOLO DANCE COMPETITION

With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students a solo Dance Competition was organized for the tiny tots of Dwarka International School. The competition started with great zeal and enthusiasm. The vivacious dancers set the stage on fire with their energetic performances. Little munchkins dressed up beautifully according to their songs. Vice Chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary, Academic Advisor Ms Sudesh and Ms Ritu Thakran congratulated the winners and appreciated the performances of the young learners and also encouraged all the children to participate in such competitions to enhance their talents

𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

“Orange is a dynamic colour and stimulates imagination and creativity”.
Orange colour Day was celebrated with zest in Dwarka International School . Our little kids were dressed in shades of orange, shining brightly. The children learnt various other things about the orange colour which also symbolizes enthusiasm, hope and prosperity. The children were asked to bring orange coloured objects in the class on that day. The classroom was beautifully decorated with orange coloured objects, ribbons and soft toys. They brought many orange colour objects like carrot, orange, marigold, car, etc. The children did interesting stamping activity in the picture of pumpkin with orange colour. The Vice chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary , Academic Director Mr. Rajbir Singh Gahlot, Academic Advisor Ms. Ritu and Headmistress Ms Archana Rathi appreciated and applauded the students. The children enjoyed a lot and it was indeed a pleasure to witness little ones dressed up in orange bubbling with energy and fascination. In a nutshell, the purpose of this activity was fulfilled with each and every child emitting enthusiasm, vigour and zest.

KINDERGARTEN CHEF OF THE MONTH ACTIVITY – FRUIT CHAAT

‘A day without a fruit is a day without a shine’.

We, at Dwarka International School, believe in hands-on, experiential learning. A Fruit Chaat making activity was organized for the children where the kids were served with fruit chaat comprising of all nutritious fruits including apple, banana, orange and many others. A ‘Fruit Chaat’ is an innovative way of making the tiny tots learn about the interesting variety of fruits available around us and also to make them relish all the fruits in the form of chaat in the tastier way. The purpose of this activity was to strengthen their identification of fruits. The teachers also discussed with them about the taste of the fruits and educated them about not touching knives and peelers. Teachers along with the children had a good time while preparing the fruit chaat and definitely no one had tasted better fruit chaat earlier than this special day! The activity focused on enhancement of the child’s vocabulary with words like washing, peeling, cutting, dicing, picking, mixing, etc. It was really a fruitful day.

COCONUT LADOO MAKING ACTIVITY

“Act as if what you do makes a difference”

Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning at Dwarka International School. Keeping up this tradition, the festival of Dussehra was celebrated through ‘COCONUT LADOO MAKING’ activity by students of class I and II on 19th October 2023.The students donned their chef caps to exhibit their culinary skills and prepared yummy coconut ladoos. It was feast for the eyes as well as stomach. They discovered that cooking can be a creative, easy and safe experience that is as much fun to cool as it is to eat the yummy delights. One could see and feel the enthusiasm that the students had in the making and presentation of the dish.
The activity not only taught culinary skills to the students but also sparked their innovation and creativity. It was a day filled with excitement and anticipation, tasked with bringing in sweet treats to share with everyone. Teachers also shared some valuable information about the festival thus enhancing their learning. Children relished eating the yummy ladoos.
It was truly a grand celebration & our little stars had so much fun.

𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘

Young minds start observing various shapes at an early age. One of the important aspects of holistic development for pre-primary kids is developing their math skills and understanding of language and objects in their day to day life. With this thought in mind, a special activity was organized for our tiny tots to introduce the geometrical shape of square. Students were encouraged to identify the shape from their surroundings. They made square shape craft and pasted eyes, nose, mouth, cap, legs, etc.

KINDERGARTEN – PINK COLOUR DAY

THE GOOD EFFECTS OF PINK, IT KINDLES THE EMOTION OF FRIENDSHIP, HARMONY AND AFFECTION
The tiny tots of Dwarka International School celebrated Pink Colour Day on October 11, 2023. It was wonderful to see our children bloom and blossom in different shades of pink. The young ones came dressed up in pink colour and brought various pink coloured objects. The room was beautifully decorated with an array of pink colour objects like balloons, ribbons, soft toys etc. providing opportunities to students to have a clear sense of the colour and its importance. The Principal Ms Shalini Agarwal and Headmistress Ms Archana Rathi also enjoyed the pink colour day celebration. The aim of the activity was to make the young ones identify pink colour in the objects that they see around them. Thus, the purpose of the celebration was fulfilled by this activity.

A Melodious symphony of words – Nursery English Recitation Competition

Rhymes continue to be an integral part of pre-school education as they help children to learn a language and enhance their musical and aesthetic skills. Keeping this in mind, English Recitation Competition for Nursery students was held on September 27, 2023 at Dwarka International School. The students recited the rhymes with great enthusiasm and immense confidence along with rhythm, presentation and expressions. The objective of this activity was to enhance children’s confidence and to develop their poetry skills as well as language skills. The tiny tots delivered a heartwarming performance. It was a splendid opportunity for the little ones to gain confidence through stage exposure. The winners were applauded and praised for their wonderful performance.

KINDERGARTEN CLEANLINESS DRIVE

“ONE WHO MAINTAINS CLEANLINESS, KEEPS AWAY FROM DISEASES”

With an aim to instill values of respect, dignity of labour and gratitude among children, Cleanliness Drive was conducted by Dwarka International School for the tiny tots. The purpose of this event was to teach children the importance of taking care of their surroundings and appreciating the efforts of unsung heroes, the helpers who make the environment clean. Children donned gloves and carried cleaning tools like brooms, dust pans and trash bags and cleaned their class cupboards, corridors, play areas etc. under the supervision of teachers. They were explained the difference between biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste that exist in the environment. Vice Chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary and Prinicpal Ma’am Ms Shalini Agarwal took initiative along with teaching staff and students in conducting the cleanliness campaign in and around the school premises. The cleanness drive had a profound impact on the children. They not only learnt the importance of cleanliness but also developed a deeper understanding of the dignity of labour.

UKG SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION

Show & Tell competition of class UKG was held on September 26, 2023. The competition was conducted with a view to develop the confidence, speaking and creative skills of students and to translate their thoughts through imagination and spontaneous ability. The tiny tots came up with variety of topics like my country, car, doll, soft toy etc. and described them with a lot of confidence, facial expression and voice modulation. The students participated with lot of enthusiasm in this competition and delivered an extraordinary presentation of ideas and thoughts.

𝙆𝙄𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍𝙂𝘼𝙍𝙏𝙀𝙉 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝙇𝙏𝙃𝙔 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙅𝙐𝙉𝙆 𝙁𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝘼𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙑𝙄𝙏𝙔

Food is an essential part of every human’s life. Giving Proper and healthy food to kids is the most important responsibility of every parent. Healthy foods that contain the right amount of nutrients should be given to children on a daily basis. So, that children can differentiate between healthy and unhealthy foods. Keeping this thing in mind, the Kindergarten sections of Dwarka International School had organized an activity on Healthy VS Junk Food on 21st September, 2023.
Teachers made them aware about ‘Healthy and Junk food’. Students understood that ‘Junk food’ like chocolates, ice-cream, chips can be harmful if eaten on a daily basis. They were also explained about the concept of ‘Balanced diet’ that we must eat fruits, vegetables, cereals and nuts everyday to keep ourselves healthy. They also learnt that food is necessary for their growth and to maintain good health.

It was a fun – filled day for the kindergarten kids of Dwarka International School as they celebrated ‘Blue Colour Day’ on September 22, 2023. Blue colour, which is a symbol of life. It is a nature’s colour and also represent both sky and sea. Kindergarten Kids and Staff were beautifully dressed up in the blue colour dress code to celebrate the ‘Blue Day’. Kids recited the Blue Rhymes. An array of blue coloured objects like umbrella, ball, cloud, kite, etc. were displayed to the students thus providing them the opportunity to have a clear sense of the colour and its importance. The Vice chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary, Principal Ms Shalini Agarwal and Headmistress Ms Archana Rathi appreciated and applauded the students for this fun filled activity. They were very excited and cheerful to celebrate this special colour day.

The little chefs of Dwarka International School enjoyed the activity of biscuit making with different toppings on September 20, 2023. It is one of the most lovable recipes, especially among kids.The class was transformed into Master Chef Kitchen and the students got hands on experience of making dishes without fire.They followed the instructions given by the teacher and made it accordingly and were pleasantly surprised to see how easily such a tasty and yummy dish could be made with the simple ingredients they had brought from their homes.The little chefs took great care of hygiene and cleanliness in the classroom. Overall it was a crunchy and delicious treat which the children relished a lot.

𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐇 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐈 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

As we know, Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated with much fervour across India. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. The festival is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi. Dwarka International School celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi, the symbol of wisdom and remover of obstacles on September 19, 2023 with lot of enthusiasm and fervor. The celebration commenced with teacher’s talk on the importance of Ganesha Chaturthi followed by students speaks on about how it is celebrated. As the song goes on, ‘Oh my friend Ganesha’ – interesting stories to the students’ and they informed about that about Lord Ganesha is the most lovable and favourite God of the little ones. PPT’s and videos were shown to children to get to know more about Lord Ganesha’s miracles. The whole class echoed with “Ganpati Bappa Maurya”. Children learnt good morals values through these videos and enjoyed a lot.

UKG PRE MATH CONCEPT-THICK AND THIN

Introducing the Pre Maths Concepts to tiny tots is a wonderful way to build a strong foundation for their future mathematical learning. Keeping this in mind, different activities were conducted for the tiny tots of Dwarka International School on September 13, 2023. They were engaged in hands -on activities like sorting of thick and thin objects, collecting of leaves or twigs of different thickness during the nature walk , pasting of cotton on the thick candle and crushing newspaper and pasting on the thin candle etc. These activities not only enhanced their fine motor skills but also encouraged them to observe and compare the objects. It was indeed a fantastic experience for the little munchkins to explore the world of thick and thin!

हिंदी दिवस (14 सितंबर )

हिंदी हमारी राष्ट्रभाषा है | हिंदी भाषा को सम्मान देने के लिए प्रत्येक वर्ष हिंदी दिवस मनाया जाता है | हिंदी भाषा संपूर्ण राष्ट्र को एक सूत्र में बाँधने का कार्य करती है | 14 सितंबर को हमारे विद्यालय में बड़ी धूमधाम से हिंदी दिवस मनाया गया | इसमें एक विशेष प्रार्थना सभा का आयोजन किया गया | जिसमें कक्षा प्रथम व द्वितीय के छात्रों ने बढ़- चढ़ कर भाग लिया | आयोजित कार्यक्रम की शुरूआत ईश्वर की स्तुति द्वारा की गई | इसके बाद भाषण के द्वारा हिंदी भाषा की महता को बताया | नाटिका के माध्यम से बच्चों ने हिंदी भाषा की कम होती महता को दर्शाया | इस कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से हिंदी भाषा के प्रति लोगों की नकारात्मक सोच को उजागर किया |अंत में ने हिंदी दिवस की शुभकामनाएँ देते हुए शुद्ध हिंदी भाषा का प्रयोग करने पर बल दिया |

𝙅𝘼𝙉𝙈𝘼𝙎𝙃𝙏𝘼𝙈𝙄 𝘾𝙀𝙇𝙀𝘽𝙍𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝘽𝙔 𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙔 𝙏𝙊𝙏𝙎

“The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals”.
The joyous spirit of Janmashtami was celebrated with great zeal and pomp by the tiny tots of Dwarka International School on September 06, 2023. The children came in traditional attire dressed up as Krishna and Radha. Honourable Vice Chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary, Principal Ms Shalini Agarwal blessed all the little munchkins on this auspicious day.

KINDERGARTEN RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

Raksha Bandhan is a celebration of the abiding and immaculate bond of love between brother and sister. ‘Raksha” means protection and ‘Bandhan’ means to tie. Tiny tots of DIS celebrated this festival with great fervor and enthusiasm on August 29, 2023. The teacher explained the significance of the festival. Children also enjoyed the Rakhi making activity. This activity brought smiles on the faces of the students.

DRAWING & COLOURING COMPETITION – CLASS I & II

“Colours are the smile of nature”.
A Drawing and Colouring competition was conducted for the tiny tots of classes I and II on Friday 25th August, 2023.The main objective of the competition was to ignite the creative side of the children’s mind, to help develop their fine motor skills and to encourage their interest in drawing. All the children actively participated in the competition. They had an enjoyable time and showcased their creativity. The competition was judged by esteemed Ritu Thakran ma’am. The honourable school Vice Chairperson, Sangeeta ma’am and our academic advisor, Sudesh ma’am admired the creative work of our budding artists.
The Principal Ms. Shalini Agarwal appreciated the efforts of the little ones. She said, “Every child has immense talent and skill and its here in school that we try our best to provide them proper guidance, encouragement and environment to flourish.”

##“Empowering Orators: The Extempore Challenge”##

To amplify the power of speech among students, Dwarka International School has organized an Extempore competition on August 17 and 22, 2023, for classes III to V. The primary objective is to enhance students’ speaking skills and boost their self-assurance. The competition was divided into two rounds, held on different dates, provided students with valuable opportunities to refine their abilities. Participants were tasked with addressing impromptu topics, while judges evaluated their fluency, content, and structure. This platform not only hones their communication skills but also empowers students to conquer stage fright and embrace public speaking more comfortably.

“An Extraordinary Cosmic Journey: A Planetarium Experience at Dwarka International School!”

On 18th August 2023, students of Classes III to VIII at Dwarka International School embarked on an enlightening educational trip within the school premises. The school auditorium transformed into a captivating Planetarium, where the students witnessed the enthralling show ‘The Ultimate Universe’ at the Sky Theatre.
The show unveiled the mysteries of galaxies, revealing detailed insights into the planets of Solar System and the fascinating life cycle of stars. The stunning visuals and informative narration mesmerised the students. The experience ignited their curiosity and wonder about the cosmos.
The trip proved to be an enriching and enjoyable experience for the students, deepening their understanding of the Universe and fostering a sense of awe and appreciation for the vastness of space.

Independence Day Activity 🇮🇳🎨

The spirit of freedom is alive and well across the country on this 77th Independence Day of our magnificent nation. The students of Dwarka International School honoured this historic event by creating lovely drawings and handicrafts such as tabletop flags, tri-colour badges, etc. to cherish their love for the country. They thoroughly enjoyed showcasing their heartfelt patriotism while making these.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The little tiny tots of DIS celebrated Independence Day on Aug.14, 2023 with festivity and patriotic fervor. The children were educated by explaining that the Independence Day of our country is celebrated on 15th August every year because India became a free and independent nation on Aug.15, 1947. Befitting the occasion, children were dressed up in beautiful tricolor attire. The spirit of patriotism was at its peak among the students. To celebrate the glory with the patriotic fervor, children did different printings on the pictures of National Symbols and leaders. This enhanced their fine motor skills. It also gave them a platform to develop their creativity and imagination. Teachers also discussed about the importance of National Symbols of India. Indeed, it was a day full of joy, a day to show love and respect for our country and makes it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

KINDERGARTEN CHEF OF THE MONTH ACTIVITY – TRI – COLOUR SANDWICH

To raise the spirit of patriotism, Tri-colour sandwich making activity was organized for little munchkins of DIS on August 10, 2023. It was a fun activity watching the children exhibiting their culinary skills. Children made the sandwiches with bread, cucumber, tomato ketchup, Pudina chutney, tomato, etc. in a very fun-filled and an interesting manner. The sandwich was full of nutritious vegetables and children were taught about the goodness of eating healthy through this activity. The Tricolor pattern followed for the sandwich making, invigorated the children’s curiosity and they eagerly listened to the significance of the tri-colours in our National Flag. Overall, it was a great learning experience for the kids.

‘Freedom is a precious gift of our freedom fighters.’
Students of class II Tulip participated in special assembly on the topic Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on August 10, 2023. The programme started with a prayer followed by a song on Independence day. Children spoke on the freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Subhash Chandra Bose etc and their glorious contributions towards Indian Independence. A patriotic dance was performed as well.
The Principal Ms. Shalini Agarwal delivered a motivational speech on the freedom fighters and urged the little ones to follow their principles and ideals. She appreciated the efforts of students and teachers in presenting such a power packed assembly. The programme culminated with the vote of thanks by respected Rajbir Singh Gahlot,director academics.

Friends are the souls who keep us sane in the chaos of our everyday lives. They share our joys and sorrows and even become our confidants. Friendship Day is a unique occasion that honours these cherished relationships among friends. To celebrate this beautiful bond and to help children understand the importance of friends in life, Friendship Day was celebrated by the tiny tots of Disians on 4th August, 2023 in the school premises. To mark a lifetime of friendship, the little munchkins engaged in a fun-filled activity where the made a friendship tree with the help of colourful hand prints.

A Melodious symphony of words – UKG English Recitation Competition

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words” – Robert Frost
Dwarka International School has organized an English Recitation Competition for the students of class UKG on July 28, 2023. The competition aimed to provide a platform to our little ones to display their confidence, expression and language skills while reciting English poems. The tiny tots delivered a heartwarming performance. It was a splendid opportunity for the little ones to gain confidence through stage exposure. The winners were applauded and praised for their wonderful performance.

SELF – INTRODUCTION COMPETITION

“My wonderful world” – Nursery Self introduction competition
A delightful Self – introduction competition was organized for the little munchkins of Dwarka International School on July 27, 2023. The competition aimed to foster confidence, communication skills and self-expression among the young learners. The little participants brimmed with excitement, ready to share their unique stories with wonderful props. They showcased remarkable creativity and enthusiasm during their introduction.

DEMONSTRATION ON SAFETY RULES

Road safety for children is an essential aspect of education that parents and teachers needs to instill in them. Keeping this in mind Demonstration on ‘Safety Rules on the Road’ was organized for the tiny tots of Dwarka International School. The objective of this activity was to give students knowledge about traffic lights, road safety and road rules – the dos and don’ts. They were also briefed about the general etiquette to be followed on the road. Safety placards were also used to reiterate the message of road safety. All the students were very enthusiastic throughout the activity and enjoyed it thoroughly. They even crafted impressive prototypes of the traffic light. The esteemed Vice Chairperson Ms. Sangeeta Choudhary and respected Principal Ms. Shalini Agarwal appreciated the efforts of the teachers and motivated the students to follow the traffic rules.

Education is incomplete without sports. Playing sports have a huge impact on holistic development of a child as it teaches them not only to become a successful team mate but helps them to become a good leader too. It also prepares them to face life challenges by making them accountable to accept their mistakes patiently. Being two sides of the same coin, academics and athletics are associated with each other.
Keeping this in mind, the students of II Lily presented a special assembly on ‘Khelo India’ at Dwarka International School on 31st of July. The assembly started with prayer by the class choir, followed by thought of the day. The students confidently showcased the importance of sports through a well coordinated dance performance, theme song and some amazing facts. Each letter in the word ‘SPORTS’ was highlighted with the placards explaining its vibrant meaning. Students’ thoughts conveyed the solemn message that sports are the integral part for all round development of a child.
The assembly ended with the encouraging words of honourable Principal Ma’am Ms. Shalini Agarwal and Director Academic Mr. Rajbir Singh Gahlot.

Kindergarten students learnt yet another life skill, ‘The culinary Art’. This activity is specifically aimed at helping our young learners to build their fine motor skills. Through this activity they also learnt the basics of cooking and also made yummy Bhelpuri under the guidance of their teacher. A lot of enthusiasm in participating and senses of achievement were visible in the sparkling eyes of our little master chefs. The Vice Chairperson, Ms Sangeeta Choudhary, Principal Ms Shalini Agarwal and Headmistress Ms Archana Rathi visited the venue to motivate our little chefs and also enjoyed delicious bites of the cuisine.

At DWARKA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, we believe in fostering a safe and secure environment for our students to learn and thrive. To strengthen the bond between our students and the local law enforcement, we organized a special activity called “Know Your Police Poster Making Competition.” This initiative aimed to bridge the gap, dispel misconceptions, and encourage positive interactions between students and the police force. The poster making competition took place on 21st July and left an indelible impact on our students, promoting mutual understanding and respect.

GOOD AND BAD HABITS ACTIVITY

Good habits are those repetitive actions that are acquired our time for the constructive moulding of one’s personality. They have positive physical, emotional, or psychological consequences. Bad habits are those actions you repeat that have negative consequences. Some bad habits are harmless, while others can have a deeper, long-term impact.
Keeping this in mind the kindergarten at Dwarka International School organised a demonstration on good and bad habits for our tiny tots.

VAN MAHOTSAVA WEEK AND GREEN COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION

The Kindergarten students of DIS celebrated Vanmahotsav Week and Green Colour Day on July 07, 2023. They were briefed about the importance of planting and saving trees through Sow-a-seed and card making activity and they even pledged to take care of them. Along with Vanmahotsav, kindergarten students also celebrated Green colour day by coming to school in their best of green attire with objects like green fruits/ vegetables/toys, etc. The Vice chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary and Headmistress Ms Archana Rathi appreciated and applauded the students. Various shades of green colour were also shown. Numerous printing activities were planned to generate interest among the children. All the green objects from the childrens’ immediate surroundings were also shown to the kids.

ENGLISH HANDWRITING COMPETITION -Class I & II

Handwriting is an essential skill for children. Practicing handwriting is an incredibly important exercise for children, enabling them to develop fine motor skills and confidence. It activates the brain and contributes to reading fluency. Good handwriting is important as in the modern world, in all walks of life, people are judged by their handwriting. keeping this in mind,DWARKA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL organized an English handwriting competition for classes I & II on 7th JULY, 2023. It provided students with an opportunity to display their competency of legible writing. The response of the students was very encouraging. Majority of students had put in their best foot forward to enhance their writing skills.School Vice Chairperson Ms Sangeeta Choudhary , Principal Ms Shalini Agarwal ,Academic Advisor Ms Sudesh Thakran and Ms. Ritu Thakran appreciated the efforts of little ones.

NURSERY NUMERAL 1 STAMPING ACTIVITY

“Art is a skill that enables the children to trust their ideas themselves and to explore new possibilities”.
The little Disians were exuberantly displayed their activity on paper. They enjoyed numeral ‘1’ Stamping Activity. With the help of a handmade stamp, they put stamping on numeral ‘1’. The activity proved hands on exposure to foster learning with fun. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by the young ones.

दिल्ली के पंजाबी बाग में साउथ एमसीडी ने ‘भारत दर्शन पार्क’ बनाया है। इस पार्क में 22 कलाकृतियाँ गाड़ियों के स्क्रैप से बनाई गई हैं। खास बात यह है कि प्रतिकृतियाँ एमसीडी स्टोर में व्यर्थ पड़े कबाड़ जैसे कि पुराने वाहन, पंखे, लोहे की छड़ें, नट बोल्ट आदि द्वारा निर्मित की गई हैं। यहाँ कुतुबमीनार, ताजमहल, चारमीनार, गेटवे ऑफ इंडिया, कोणार्क मंदिर, नालंदा स्मारक, मैसूर पैलेस,मीनाक्षी मंदिर, हंपी, विक्टोरिया मेमोरियल, सांची स्तूप, गोल गुंबद, अजंता-ऐलोरा की गुफाएँ, हवा महल आदि बनाए गए हैं। इसके साथ कई संदेश भी दिए गए हैं, जैसे कि स्वच्छ भारत, कौशल निर्माण, देश की सांस्कृतिक एकता को बनाए रखने, देश के पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने जैसे कई लक्ष्यों की पूर्ति एक ही पार्क के माध्यम से की गई है।
इसी बात को ध्यान में रखते हुए द्वारका इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के दूसरी कक्षा विद्यार्थियों को ग्रीष्मावकाश के दौरान अपने परिवार के साथ यहाँ घूमने का गतिविधि कार्य दिया गया जिससे वे देश की संस्कृति और विरासत के बारे जानकारी प्राप्त कर सकें | इस गतिविधि के द्वारा विद्यार्थियों ने सीखा कि व्यर्थ पड़े सामान को रचनात्मक रूप से पुनः प्रयोग में कैसे लाया जा सकता है। उन्होंने यह भी जाना कि किस प्रकार पृथ्वी को प्रदूषण मुक्त किया जा सकता है ताकि आने वाले समय में हमें स्वच्छ और शुद्ध पर्यावरण में जीवन यापन करने का अवसर मिले।

International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual well being that yoga has brought to the world. Dwarka International School motivated the parents and students of class 1 to celebrate “Yoga Day” during summer vacation reinforcing yoga as an important habit to be inculcated in our daily life. “INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY” was celebrated zestfully by every student along with their family members by exhibiting yoga postures and different asanas through various pictures. They spent the day very actively and with great enthusiasm celebrated this health and fitness day. Dwarka International School is thankful to one and all for making this day successful.

Story telling is the heart of life. It is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today. It not only boosts language skills but also expands the imagination and improves listening skills of the young students. A story telling activity was organised by the teachers of DIS for the students of kindergarten. The creativity and artistry among the tiny tots were nurtured through extremely engaging session.
Teachers presented an English Story – The Blue Jackal with various props, finger puppets, charts, pictures, creative gestures and facial expressions. The appropriate use of voice modulation and body language infused passion, enhanced imagination and expression and introduced children to new horizons of storytelling.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about the most ancient practice and staying healthy to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. It plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune systems. Yoga encourages people to remain active and have a balanced state of mind. International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students with great enthusiasm. Students demonstrated various yoga asanas and the importance of these were explained simultaneously. Teachers also encouraged students to practice yoga regularly in order to remain fit and improve their concentration. Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life, physically, mentally as well as spiritually.

Father’s Day is a celebration honouring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. This wonderful day is commemorated every year on the third Sunday of June. Students of class I and II celebrated Father’s day with great enthusiasm and zeal on June 18, 2023.They prepared delicious summer drinks as instructed by their teachers and their father’s favourite snacks with the help of their mother. They also captured the beautiful moments while presenting these to their father. It was a memorable day for them where the fathers and children will cherish for their lifetime. Fathers appreciated the idea of school authorities and teachers.

# KINDERGARTEN CHEF OF THE MONTH ACTIVITY – LEMONADE

With the onset of summer, it gets essential to refresh and replenish our body with some cool beverages to beat the heat. To introduce our tiny tots to one such lip-smacking drink, DIS organized “LEMONADE MAKING ACTIVITY”. Our little munchkins had a great time preparing the Lemonade by squeezing some lemon, sprinkling a bit of sugar and stirring the mixture with their tiny fingers. The activity gave our young learners a hands-on experience of making a glass of Lemonade and they relished every bit of it. It was a fun-based learning experiences for our little DISians which will be cherished by them forever with a smile.

In an initiative to generate the habit of using old things to create beautiful crafts among children, a ‘Best Out of Waste Competition’ was held on Friday 12th May 2023 for students of classes III to V of Dwarka International School. The objective of the competition was to create love for environment.
The competition focused on bringing an understanding among the children about preserving the environment by reusing and recycling waste material.
Fantabulous ideas were demonstrated using material like newspaper, old CDs, used plastic bottles, ropes, ice cream sticks, bangles, shoe boxes etc.

Beach parties are tons of fun and enjoyment. Dwarka International School campus was turned into a beach on Friday, May 12th, 2023 for a “Beach Party” that served as a celebration as a start of summer break. The classes Nursery to I geared up for a rocking beach party with funky attire like hats, sunglasses, swim suits and their colourful beach dresses and had loads of fun and enjoyment in order to beat the scorching heat of the summer season. Students enjoyed wonderful moments of splashing water and dancing with friends. The weather was just perfect to hit the beach this weekend. They had great fun and teachers also enjoyed with little ones.

Mother’s Day is a special occasion that celebrates the unconditional love, care & dedication of mothers. To express our gratitude and to create a memorable experience for mothers, a Special Assembly was organized by the students of UKG Tulip in the School auditorium where parents were also invited. The tiny tots showcased their talents through heartwarming songs, dance & a short skit. The little performers stole the show. To add an element of surprise, a Ramp walk was organized for mothers with their children. It provided a platform for mothers & children to express their love and appreciation for one another, also highlighting the beauty & diversity of motherhood. At the end of the ramp walk the participants were applauded for their elegance, confidence & the love they radiated on the stage. A beautiful duo performance by a mother and daughter was also done. Beautiful purses were also made by the children to show their love for their mothers. The event concluded with heartfelt speeches by Principal ma’am Ms. Shalini Agarwal & Academic Director Mr. Rajbir Singh Gahlot, expressing gratitude to the mothers for their selfless devotion & celebrating their invaluable role in shaping their lives.

The introduction of Primary and secondary colours was done with the little ones of Dwarka International School. They were demonstrated how to make a secondary colour by mixing two Primary colours. The children actively participated in the activity which proved to be an effective approach for developing colour recognition and enhancing cognitive development.

Motherhood is a million little moments that God weaves together with grace, redemption, laughter, tears, and most of all, love. Mothers are our guardian angels who guide us and take care of us without expecting anything in return! Mother’s Day celebrates the true essence of these guardian angels in the best possible way. To cherish the emotional bond that every child shares with his/her mother and express gratitude to these angels; our students of Class II Rose conducted a special assembly on Mother’s Day at Dwarka International School on 11th of May.
To mark this as a special day, mothers were welcomed at school auditorium. The students expressed their love with utmost purity through stunning dance performances, songs, ramp walk. Each letter in the word ‘MOTHER’ was highlighted with the placards explaining its distinct and vibrant meaning.
Students’ lovely thoughts conveyed the solemn message which expressed their endearment and devotion towards the dignity of motherhood. All performances exalted the mother as God, teacher, friend, philosopher and guide and emphasized the truth that a mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. Class II made their assembly special and sent home the message that the boundless love of the mother needs to be returned too.

Demonstration of Summer Season was conducted for the tiny tots of Dwarka International School. This activity helped the tiny tots to learn about the characteristics of summer season and engage their senses and imagination. Teacher explained about each and every thing related to summer season. The Vice chairperson Ms. Sangeeta Choudhary along with school Principal Ms. Shalini Agarwal appreciated and applauded the students for being expressive and impressive during the activity. Overall, the demonstration was well received by the children, who seemed to enjoy learning about summer in a fun and interactive way.

❝Kindergarten Thumb Printing Activity❞

“ Colour is a power which directly influences the soul”.
Our tiny tots love vibrant colours. These colours make them happy. They get excited whenever they get a chance to work and experiment with colours. Our little ones enjoyed doing ‘Thumb printing’ in the pictures of grapes and tomatoes. They were highly enthusiastic and excited to mark their colourful thumb impressions. This activity helped them to improve eye-hand coordination and also developed in them an aesthetic sense.

Reading forms an essential part of a child’s growth. Therefore, to inculcate the reading habits among the children and to create lifelong readers, Dwarka International school organized ‘Scholastic Book Fair’ on May 03, 2023. The fair was organized in the school premises where books ranging from various subjects and catering to the tastes of every age group were displayed. The aim of this fair was to encourage and inculcate the love for reading among the students. Children got an opportunity to browse through the interesting collection on display and to select books of their choice. The fair spread the message that books are our best friends and companions as they enlarge our vision and make our life more meaningful.

Labour Day Celebration

“Labour Day is a well-deserved tribute to those who work hard.”
Labour Day is observed every year on May 1st. To celebrate this special day, a story telling session was organized in the school auditorium by Dwarka International School.
Students of classes I and II prepared beautiful Thank You cards for the support staff of the school as a gesture of respect and appreciation. All the students participated exuberantly in the card making activity and were enlightened about the contribution of labourers in the growth of our country.

Olympiads help to create competitive awareness among students at school, national and global level. These exams aim to improve problem-solving ability and analytical thinking skills of students. Our young students of Classes I to V participated in different Silver zone and SOF Olympiads and once again have brought laurels with their commendable achievements by winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the various subject ( English, Maths& Science) categories. They were awarded medals as well as certificate for their achievements. Dwarka International School is proud of their efforts and appreciate the achievers for their whole hearted endeavour.

Keeping this message in mind the tiny tots of Dwarka International school celebrated Earth Day in the school Auditorium. Children enthusiastically participated in the special Assembly and explained the significance of Earth Day. A soulful dance performance followed by a Rhyme was presented to celebrate the Mother Earth.
Principal Ms. Shalini Agarwal and Academic Director Mr. Rajbir Singh Gahlot encouraged and applauded the students. They emphasized upon the importance of afforestation, planting trees and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting our environment.

Yellow is the brightest and happiest of all the colour. To introduce our little ones to such a jovial colour and also to mark the significance of Baisakhi, yellow colour day was celebrated at DIS in the assembly ground. The assembly began with a thought of the day followed by interesting facts about yellow objects. A beautiful dance on the theme of Baisakhi was presented by the students and teachers. The special assembly was concluded with the blessings of the Principal, Ms. Shalini Agarwal and Academic Director, Mr. Rajbir Singh Gahlot.

Every child is special in his/her own way. Children feel happy when they are made to understand the importance of their individuality and their uniqueness. Keeping the same fact in mind Little munchkins were made aware of their gender. They were encouraged to make the girl/boy stick puppet. The session started with a general discussion about ‘How special I am’. They were also encouraged to speak few lines about themselves.

भारत त्योहारों का देश है | त्योहार आनंद व खुशियाँ लाते हैं | ये हमें अपनी संस्कृति से परिचित कराने और व्यक्तियों के रूप में सकारात्मक रूप से बढ़ने में मदद करते हैं। ठीक इसी प्रकार बैसाखी भी भारत का एक प्रसिद्ध त्योहार है | यह पंजाब और हरियाणा का मुख्य कृषि-पर्व है | बैसाखी किसानों का प्रमुख त्योहार होता है | किसान अपनी पकी हुई रबी की फसल को देखकर खुश होते हैं और बड़े हर्ष और उल्लास के साथ इस दिन को बड़े त्योहार के रूप में मनाते हैं | वे अपनी अच्छी फसल के लिए भगवान को धन्यवाद देते हैं |
बैसाखी के त्योहार के अवसर पर द्वारका इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के कक्षा पहली व दूसरी के विद्यार्थियों द्वारा 13 अप्रैल 2023 को एक क्रियाकलाप “आई बैसाखी” किया गया जिसके अंतर्गत उन्होंने उत्साहपूर्वक रंग बिरंगे कागजों की पतंगे बनाईं व अपनी रचनात्मकता का प्रदर्शन किया | साथ ही उन्हें बैसाखी के त्योहार का महत्त्व भी समझाया गया तथा सभी त्योहारों को मिलजुल कर मनाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित भी किया गया |

Dwarka International School always aims at Learning beyond classroom. So, to make students aware of how important self introduction is, and the importance of Classroom Rules ,teachers of Classes 1&2 enacted a play on self introduction and classroom rules in the School Auditorium .
Students were delighted to see their teachers performing on stage.The show was planned with the aim of imparting self discipline, confidence and developing linguistic skills among students. They thoroughly enjoyed this enactment.*

Imagination knows no boundaries and creativity can surpass any limits. The same was showcased by our little learners when a Hand print Activity was organized for them. A wonderful sensory experience for them. It stimulating their creativity and imagination that took them to a whole new world of colours and also helped them in strengthening their hand muscles.

‘EARTH DAY CELEBRATION BY CLASSES 1 & 2’

 A fancy dress competition not only blends learning with fun but also develops confidence in students by giving them an opportunity to come on stage and face the audience with confidence.

To celebrate this fun-filled learning activity, children of Classes I and II of Dwarka International School participated in a fancy dress competition on April 20 and 21, 2023. They were dressed up with the clothes made up using waste material like jute, cloth bag, rugs, disposable glasses,newspapers,buttons,paper plates etc. Children participated with a lot of enthusiasm and displayed their confidence while walking on the ramp.

The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents. Hats off to the creativity of the parents who dressed children with boundless imagination. Their creative dresses and stage presence won the hearts of school authority ,teachers and judges. School Principal, Ms Shalini Agarwal applauded the efforts of the students as well as the parents.

On 10TH March, Dwarka International School organized its Annual Sports Day. The sports day event was inaugurated through the flame lighting ceremony, in which, the torch was carried by students. This was followed by a spectacular drill which the students put up for the entertainment of the audience. They performed various exercises using Pom-Poms, which was followed by a wide range of races like Ice-Cream race, Shuttle race, Pack your Bag race etc. A fitting finale to the day was a display by a few students of UKG who showcased their skills through a set of thrilled activities like Zig-Zag, hurdles, Ladder Hop, Crawling, Balancing on the Beam, Dive & Roll & Pyramid.
The Sports Day helped children explore their hidden sports interests, to build confidence and to inculcate a desire to learn new skills by watching their peers. It was a fun filled day for one and all.

Games and sports have become an integral element of present day education. It teaches us the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership. It also enhances the physical and mental development of children.Dwarka International School hosted its Junior Annual Sports meet on March 14, 2023 in the school playground.
The chief guest for the day were the esteemed members of the management, Vice Chairperson, Ms. Sangeeta Choudhary, Principal, Ms. Shalini Agarwal, Academic Director Mr Rajbir Singh Gahlot and Head Mistress. Ms. Archana Rathi.
The eventful day began with the lightning of the torch. Students of Class I performed Sun Salutation to the tuneful chants of shlokas. Thereafter students of Class 2 presented ball drill. There were enthralling fun races : drag the ball race, burst balloon race ,catch the fish, flat race, mind our step race and build & bulldozer race. Teachers also got an oppurtunity to prove their physical fitness by participating in few fun filled races.
It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The School Principal, Ms Shalini Aggarwal thanked all the teachers, administrators and the students who made the program very special.

Sports are a great teacher for every human being ever! Tennis is a good sport for maintaining health, fitness, strength and agility. It also has social and psychological benefits. So keeping in mind Dwarka International school hosted Inter Class Lawn Tennis Competition for Class I on February 16,2023 in the school Tennis court. All the participants and non-participants gathered in and around the court to witness the competition and to encourage their class mates. All the players played with commendable efforts. It was a splendid day which ended with an energetic performances of our budding champions.

꧁⭑⭒ KINDERGARTEN FRUIT MARKET AND FRUIT CHAAT/SALAD

DIS teachers had set up their own Fruit Market for the students of kindergarten which was displayed in a creative way. Children had a fun filled experience of selling & buying fruits from the greengrocers. The activity also created awareness about the importance of consumption of fruits & vegetables in regular diet. Event was also used to reinforce & concept of the health benefits of fruits. Children also enjoyed Fruit salad/chaat. They were made to understand the importance of washing the fruits before eating. It created a positive learning environment which provided our tiny tots an amazing experience which will be helpful to connect it to the real-life experience. They thoroughly enjoyed the process of making the fruit salad/chaat in the most hygienic way.

Learning a language is the foremost step in the life of a child as it helps him/her to communicate with the world and a school plays a vital role to train the child in this direction.
The Vocab Words Competition was held on January 27,2023 at Dwarka International School which aimed at creating awareness about the possibilities of using varied words in oral and written expression and also to enhance their general vocabulary.
The competition was organized for classes I & II.The objective of the competition was to enhance the spelling ,meaning and literary skills of children by encouraging them to explore the English language, expand their vocabulary and improve their communication and comprehension skills.This language development programme comprises learning through play way method and a healthy competition is thus encouraged.
Teachers facilitated the smooth organization and execution of the event. Summing up, the competition helped the children to be familiarized with the spellings and use of many unfamiliar words. The HOS Ms. Sangeeta Choudhary , Principal Ms Shalini Agarwal and Academic Advisor Ms. Ritu praised the students for their commendable efforts in Vocab Words Competition.

The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated at DIS with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervour. The students of DIS actively participated in various creative activities like, making of tri-colour cap and flag which enhanced their creativity & motor skills. The children came dressed up in tri-colour attire and remembered the freedom fighters who laid their lives for the motherland. The children were also briefed about the significance of each colour of the National Flag. Overall, it was a fun-filled learning day for the tiny tots.

ENGLISH POEM RECITATION COMPETITION

BY CLASS 1 & 2

‘Beauty is the realm of poetry’. Recitation activities help students to build confidence as they learn to speak more accurately and persuasively about any piece of writing. Keeping this in mind ,English Recitation Competition was organised for Classes 1&2.The students came up with different poems on the given themes : ‘Colours, Nature , Winter Season and Festivals’. They enjoyed the perfection of expression, thoughts, emotions, rhythm and music of words.

The school Principal ,Ms Shalini Agarwal was enthralled with the performances of the little ones and congratulated them.

The parameters of judgement were use of props, content, clarity of speech and voice modulation.

The young poets captivated the audience with their articulation and memory skills. The teachers appreciated and applauded the performances of the participants.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON CHRISTMAS BY CLASS I

Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It’s time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. On the occasion of Christmas, the students of I Daisy presented an assembly on 23rd December 2022 with gaiety. The program began with the prayer followed by the news headlines and thought of the day. The beautiful Christmas carol “Jingle Bell –Jingle Bell” was sung by the choir students. The tiny tots showcased the significance of Christmas symbols. The students enthusiastically participated and enacted the roles and a group of students presented a dance on ‘we wish you a Merry Christmas’. The children were ecstatic! And Santa thoroughly enjoyed the attention. The special assembly ended with a message from the Principal, Ms. Shalini Agarwal to the students to spread the essence of Christmas with love and joy of giving. The children carried home the message of sharing and caring as well as the pleasure and pride of spreading peace, true to the spirit of the celebration.

Fancy Dress Competition on “Communal Harmony”

Social Science department organised a Fancy Dress competition on “Communal Harmony” for classes IV and V on 23rd November, 2022 in the school premises to promote peace and harmony with national integration. Students participated in this competition with great enthusiasm and fervour. They showcased themselves beautifully in different attire representing different states and religion. They confidently put up their thoughts on the theme and showed that India is a multi-religious and multi-lingual land. However, people belonging to different religion live here in harmony.

# Special Assembly on “Communal Harmony”

A Special Assembly on Communal Harmony was conducted by the teachers of Social Science department on 23rd November, 2022 with the motto to spread the message of peace and harmony in the country. The assembly commenced by seeking the blessings of the Almighty by reciting a beautiful shloka from Rigveda. It was then followed by a group song and dance on unity, peace and harmony following which a pledge was taken to maintain communal harmony in the nation.
Thereafter, a thought-provoking and inspiring Nukkad Natak was staged which connected very well with the audience. The Principal (Shalini Agarwal) graced the occasion and complimented the performance of the students and inspired them with her wise words. The Assembly was an amalgamation of entertainment and information which concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.

𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐈 & 𝐈𝐈

Students of Junior Wing of Dwarka International School, Dwarka donned their ‘Chef Caps’ to exhibit their culinary skills in ‘Cooking without Fire’ Intra Class competition held on November 22, 2022. Children participated with full zeal and enthusiasm as they doled out nutritious yet delectable delicacies. Artefacts and food items displayed were a visual treat and were presented in an artistic and aesthetic style. Dishes were judged on nutritional value and dish prepared were tasted by esteemed judges Ms. Sudesh Thakran ma’am and Ms. Ritu Thakran ma’am. They interacted with the budding chefs to find out the ingredients of the recipes and its nutritional value. Judges was overawed by the efforts of the participants and results were announced amidst tough competition.
The event not only provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity and decision making skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest.

The special Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru born on November 14 ,1889. He was very popular amongst children for his love.Hence November 14marks Nehru ji’s devotion to welfare,education and development of children.
The students of class I Tulip of Dwarka International School participated in children’s Day celebrations with Great Guest & Gaiety . The program Started with the prayer followed by news and thought of the day. Children recited songs and Poems On Chacha Nehru .
The assembly ended with the encouraging Words by the school Principal Ms Shalini Aggarwal .

KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION

“Every child is a different kind of flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden.”

Children’s Day or Bal Diwasis celebrated on November 14 every year in India. The special day is celebrated in remembrance of India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, he was also known as Pandit Nehru. Nehru, who was fondly called Chacha Nehru or simply Chachaji, was very popular amongst children for his love. November 14 marks Nehru’s devotion to welfare, education and development of children and young people.

A day marking childhood, and to make this event a joyous one for our little ones, DIS celebrated Children’s Day on 14th November 2022 in the school premises. The day focused on children and their enjoyment. The day was celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm. The tiny tots of DIS came dressed up in casual clothes and brought their favourite homemade snacks. The celebrations began with the Morning Prayer, followed by variety of fun filled activities and games planned by the teachers for their children. The teachers made Children’s Day special for their children by involving them in various games like tug of war, parachute, etc. The children were given chocolates and badges as a token of love from their teachers. The students enjoyed throughout the day.

KINDERGARTEN PINK COLOUR DAY

Life with colours is always vibrant and meaningful. Reflecting on the theme colour for the month as Pink the students of DIS participated whole heartedly in the Pink Day celebrations. Dressed up in beautiful pink coloured outfits, they spoke ardently about their pink objects. The students were shown rhyme videos associated with the theme, the importance and affinity towards using pink as a colour as they actively engaged themselves in craft activities like fish and teddy bear making. Indeed, the colour pink makes everything look pretty and the students of DIS made the ‘PINK COLOUR DAY’ a great success.

We constantly seek new and innovative approaches to promote student engagement in a way to bring about positive changes. Celebrating Non-Violence and Peace Day at Dwarka International School we taught our students to understand the importance of creating and maintaining peace amongst themselves, families, and their surroundings.
As a part of this endeavor, Students of Class III Lily of Dwarka International School presented a special assembly with great gusto and gaiety. The assembly started with the prayer followed by a speech, poem, thought of the day and news. The students mesmerized everyone with a skit on Non-Violence and they tapped their feet on the song “Heal the World”.
The session ended with the saying “ When the power of love overcomes the love of power , the world will know peace”. The students were urged to imbibe the value of love, harmony and non- violence and to become instruments of peace in their homes and surroundings.

 

“WE MUST FIND TIME TO STOP AND THANK THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO OUR LIVES”.

Children of classes 1 and 2 were taught about the various ‘Community helpers’ and their contribution in helping the society. As a humble gesture, students wanted to thank them, by giving a ‘Thank you’ card. They made a flower by folding colourful papers and pasted it neatly on a card. They wrote ‘Thank you’ inside the card with their own handwriting. The activity kept the children engrossed, as the teacher gave step by step instructions to turn a sheet of paper into a beautiful card. The children were excited to give these cards to their school helpers like drivers, security guards, gardeners etc. This activity not only enhanced their gross motor and creative skills, it also built a sense of gratitude towards all the community helpers, who work hard to keep our society safe and clean.

*Water Experiments* by Class III

Doing experiments develop curiosity and problem-solving skills. It helps students to find new ways of asking questions and understanding the world.

As DIS believes in learning by doing , students of *Class III* enthusiastically participated in various experiments during the class.

These experiments helped them to understand the properties of water( it has no colour, shape, smell and taste) and they got to know that liquid drops are always spherical in shape (due to surface tension).

𝙇𝙆𝙂 – 𝙍𝙊𝙇𝙀 𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙔 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙋𝙀𝙏𝙄𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉

Freedom fighters sacrificed their lives selflessly for the freedom of our country. They are the ones because of whom we celebrate Independence Day. Keeping this in mind, DIS conducted a Role Play Competition for LKG class in which students had to play the role of freedom fighters. The objective of organizing the competition was to develop confidence in the students, promote the skills of public speaking in them and to facilitate their understanding about various freedom fighters and their contribution in the freedom struggle of India. Dressed up in colourful costumes, the students put up their best show. The competition proved to be fun-filled as well as a great learning experience for the students.

Learning shapes not only help children to identify and organize visual information but also helps them to learn important skills apart from other cognitive areas as Reading, Writing, and Math. The tiny tots were introduced to “Rectangle Shape” with the help of ‘visual objects’ and ‘shape poem’ which helped them in comprehending the concept very well. Teacher’s encouraged children to recognize the Rectangle shaped objects. Children actively participated in craft activity Robot Making with the help of Rectangle Shape. It was a playful day as learning became fun.

KINDERGARTEN BLUE COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION

“Somewhere over the Rainbows the Skies are Blue that meets the blue sea and all seems blue for sometime”.
In order to sensitise students with the virtues of Blue colour that is associated with open spaces, imagination, inspiration, loyalty and trust; a fun filled day was celebrated as ‘Blue Colour Day’ by the kindergarten students of DIS.
All the students were rejuvenated as they were dressed up in different shades of blue carrying blue coloured objects. Children were introduced to the colour blue with a craft activity fish making. It was truly a visual treat to watch our little munchkins learn with joy and develop their cognitive & visual skills throughout the class.

SELF INTRODUCTION COMPETITION- LKG

At DIS, we believe in expression of thoughts. To encourage this, the school organised “Self Introduction Competition” for LKG students’.
Children expressed themselves on the virtual platform and freely shared their thoughts. They shared several things about them like hobbies, favourite cartoons, favourite fruit, favourite colours, favourite vegetables etc. They used props accordingly. The teachers also came to know about their students. It helped the introvert and shy students to take initiative and speak few lines on themselves. The activity was a great learning experience for students as they got a platform to express their views and thoughts. The teachers applauded all the participants for their efforts and presentation. The manner in which students presented their thoughts and views were praiseworthy.

हिंदी दिवस ( 14 सितंबर )

14 सितंबर को हमारे विद्यालय में बड़ी धूमधाम से हिंदी दिवस मनाया गया | इसमें एक विशेष प्रार्थना सभा का आयोजन किया गया | जिसमें कक्षा तीसरी के छात्रों ने बढ़- चढ़ कर भाग लिया | आयोजित कार्यक्रम की शुरूआत ईश्वर की स्तुति द्वारा की गई | इसके बाद भाषण के द्वारा हिंदी भाषा की महता को बताया | कुछ छात्रों ने हास्य कविता के माध्यम से सबको गुदगुदाया | नाटिका के माध्यम से छात्रों ने हिंदी भाषा की कम होती महता को दर्शाया | इस कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से हिंदी भाषा के प्रति लोगों की नकारात्मक सोच को उजागर किया | अंत में इस कार्यक्रम की मुख्य अतिथि श्रीमती सुदेश जी (शैक्षिक सलाहकार) श्री राजबीर सिंह जी (शैक्षिक निर्देशक ) थे |उन्होंने  अपने शब्दों से छात्रों को प्रोत्साहित करते हुए हिंदी भाषा के प्रचार व प्रसार में अपना सहयोग देने की बात कही |

इसी उपलक्ष्य में द्वारका इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के कक्षा – प्रथम  लिली  के विद्यार्थियों द्वारा  14 सितंबर  2022 को  हिंदी भाषा के  सम्मान में कक्षा सभा (Class Assembly) आयोजित की गई,  जिसमें विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया  तथा  अपने गीत, भाषण, कविता व नाटक आदि के माध्यम से  हिंदी भाषा की महानता का गुणगान किया |

सभा का प्रारंभ  प्रार्थना से किया गया | तत्पश्चात  सुविचार, कविता व हिंदी भाषा के बारे में कुछ पंक्तियाँ प्रस्तुत की गई | अंत में विद्यार्थियों ने सामूहिक गीत के द्वारा सबको मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया | विद्यार्थियों का प्रदर्शन सराहनीय था |

“हास्य कविता प्रतियोगिता”- कक्षा प्रथम व द्वितीय
हिंदी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में द्वारका इंटरनेशनल स्कूल ने

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE ACTIVITY

Dwarka International School conducted a *”Cooking without fire activity – My sumptuous waffle cone”* on Sept 2, 2022 for students of Class III.
Through this activity the students learnt the spirit of team work, culinary skills and appreciating the hard work put into cooking. The aim of the activity was to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and explore new areas of interest.

A teacher is the eternal guru and guide whose selfless dedication and investment has shaped generations from times immemorial. A Teacher can inspire hope, ignite imagination and instill love for learning . To honor the hard work and veneration of teachers towards the teaching profession, Students of Class 1 Rose of Dwarka International School participated Teacher’s Day celebration on 2nd September 2022 with great gusto and gaiety. The program started with the prayer followed by news and Thought of the day. After this, the students surprised their teachers by reciting poem in Hindi and English. One of the children talked about the genesis of teacher’s day . They interestingly presented the full form of the word TEACHER.
Thereafter ,as a token of love they gave tags to their teachers. They made the day memorable for the teachers and created memories to cherish forever.

KINDERGARTEN GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATION

As we know, Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated with much fervour across India. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. The festival is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Ganeshotsava. It is believed that Lord Ganesha removes obstacles and blesses the course of the believer. The tiny tots of DIS celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great zeal. As the song goes, ‘Oh my friend Ganesha’ – Ganesha is the most loved and favourite God of the little ones. The students were narrated interesting stories about Lord Ganesha in brief. Children made sparkling Ganesha cards decorated with eva glitter sheets, colours, etc. They were seen happily making the cards of their endearing Ganesha. The whole class echoed with ‘Ganpati Bappa

GANESH CHATURTHI – ACTIVITY (CLASS III TO X)

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi classes III to X have performed different activities related to Lord Ganesha by making mask and posters using different postures. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity.

Science – Class IV

Activity – Effect of coke , sugar , milk, vinegar on teeth.

Experiment plays major role in science. One of its important roles is to test theories and to provide the basis for scientific knowledge. Students of class IV enthusiastically perform activity on ‘Effect of coke , sugar , milk, vinegar on teeth’. They also noted their observation in their respective notebook.

KINDERGARTEN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

India has a rich cultural tradition. There is a harmonious blend of art, religion and philosophy in the Indian culture. They are so beautifully interwoven and fabricated in the Indian way of life and thought that they are inseparable. Independence Day is annually celebrated on 15th August, in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the Britishers. With the view of paying a splendid homage to the martyrs of India, DIS celebrated the glorious occasion of 76th Independence Day with a lot of patriotic zeal as the school campus resonated with ‘Azaadi Ka Amritmahotsav’ and ‘Har Ghar Tirangaa’ slogans befitting the occasion. The students were told about how & when our country got independence. They recited poems on the theme of Independence with full enthusiasm. Children were beautifully dressed up in Tri-colour attires and depicted their unending love for their country by making national symbols with the help of different printings like tip printing, thumb printing, cotton dabbing, etc. Everyone enjoyed being a part of the Independence Day celebrations and teachers advised the children to carry forward the rich legacy by maintaining peace and harmony.

ENGLISH HANDWRITING COMPETITION

“Good handwriting skills lead to stronger academic performance”.

Handwriting is a part of our identity and an essential tool for communication. The process of handwriting promotes clear thought and natural structure. Dwarka International School conducted  English Handwriting Competition which was held on 10th of August, 2022 for grade 1 and 2. The objective of this competition was to encourage students to improve their writing skills. It is an incredibly important exercise for students to encourage them to develop fine motor skills and confidence. It activates the brain and contributes to reading fluency. It also encourages and recognizes the good handwriting skills. It provides students with an opportunity to display their competency of legible writing. The students participated with a lot of excitement and passion. The response of the students was very encouraging. Majority of students had put in their best foot forward to enhance their writing skills.

Class 5 – Science Activity

Sedimentation, Decantation and Filtration

As teachers we want our students to increase their scientific skills. Each week we try to uncover the interesting science experiments to keep them motivated towards learning. Students of class 5 were happily involved in performing sedimentation, decantation and filtration process in their respective classes.

KINDERGARTEN RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

‘Priceless thread Rakhi is the epitome of love between brother and sister.’

The festivals celebrated in India reflect the country’s rich cultural abundance. They break the humdrum of daily routine and bring with them a wave of excitement, happiness and hope even in the most difficult times.

Rakshabandhan is one such festival. lt is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all emotions.  Rakhi is not merely a silken thread but a tradition that binds both brother and sister beautifully in a relationship forever.  RakshaBandhan, a much awaited Indian festival of sisterly and brotherly respect was celebrated by tiny tots of DIS. The tinytots also made beautiful and colourful rakhis with the help of variety of craft material. All the students participated with great zeal and zest in this activity. It was a delightful celebration for students filled with cheer, love and joy.

 

KINDERGARTEN FRIENDSHIP DAY CELEBRATION

“There is something about childhood friends that one just can’t replace!”

The kindergarten wing of DIS celebrated Friendship Day with great zeal and fervour. The legendary story about four friends and a hunter was narrated to the tiny tots emphasizing the moral – Friend in need is a Friend indeed. The teacher in her interaction with students reprised the significance of friendship and the importance of friends in our lives, and also urged the students to spread peace & harmony through this bond of friendship. They further stated that friends help us not only through our good times but also provide support during bad times. A gala day was observed with full enthusiasm and happiness in the school premises.

 

CLASS IV- HEALTHY SALAD MAKING ACTIVITY

As we all know that food is important for healthy and wealthy life. So, keeping this in mind we conducted ‘Healthy Salad Making’ activity to develop eating healthy food in class IV. It was mesmerising to see children making cheese and sprout sandwich with their friends and understood the importance of eating healthy.

KINDERGARTEN TRIANGLE SHAPE ACTIVITY

Who can tell why a round Pizza comes in a Square Box and is eaten as a Triangle?

To reveal the mystery of shapes the students of DIS were introduced to the shape- Triangle. The teacher explained the shape Triangle and different objects related to it were shown. The main aim of the activity was to make them aware about the shape Triangle and the objects related to it such as Pyramids, Birthday Caps, etc.

The students also made beautiful crafts like fox and yatch. Kids enjoyed these fun-filled activities packed with joy and happiness.

 

KINDERGARTEN MY HOME ACTIVITY

The paper folding craft or origami was not only a fun filled experience, but it also proved to be a valuable means to develop artistic skills in the young ones. The kindergarten of DIS conducted an Origami Activity – My Home. Children participated in this creative venture with great zeal and high spirits. Children enjoyed making house as an origami activity with the help of instructions given by their teachers to them.

As the teachers demonstrated, children watched closely and listened carefully to the specific instructions and then carried them with originality, neatness and accuracy. The tiny tots were amazed to see transformation of a flat sheet square of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting. This activity triggered their imagination and enhanced their creative skills.

Baisakhi and Yellow Colour Day Celebration

“Shades of yellow stimulated our little ones with happiness, energy and optimism”
With an objective to recapitulate and reinforce the effects of yellow colour, kindergarten wing celebrated “Yellow day” on April 13, 2022. A day dedicated to the yellow colour was marked by children dressed in different hues and tints of yellow. Children were not only beautifully dressed in their favorite yellow dresses but they also brought yellow objects to make it a complete “Yellow Day”! Tiffins were also filled with bananas, custard, jelly, lemons, mangoes, pineapples etc. Attractive yellow coloured toys like racing cars, teddy bears, dolls, balls, balloons, flowers and masks made the learning environment active and sporty. To make the children understand about the significance of yellow colour, various colorful activities including thumb printing in chick and pineapple craft were conducted in a lively, vibrant and high spirited environment. Students were also told about the importance of the Baisakhi festival which is also called harvest festival. Cheerful Children attired in yellow outfits were sparkling with optimism, enlightenment and happiness. The motive of celebrating this yellow colour day was to make the children aware of yellow colour, its significance and to develop fine motor skills in the students. They spent the day with utmost enjoyment.

ROLE PLAY COMPETITION

Freedom fighters were people who sacrificed their lives selflessly for the freedom of our country. They are the ones because of whom we celebrate Independence Day. As a part of CBSE activity “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Role Play Competition was organised for classes I and II on March 04, 2022 in which students had to play the role of freedom fighters.

The objective of organising the competition was to develop confidence in the students, promote the skills of public speaking in them and to facilitate their understanding about the various freedom fighters and their contribution in the freedom struggle of India.

Dressed up in colourful costumes, the students put up their best show. The competition proved to be  fun-filled as well as a great learning experience for the students.

 

हिंदी सुलेख प्रतियोगिता- Class I & II

सुंदर लेखन एक कला है | सुंदर तरीके से लिखे गए शब्द देखने वाले को अपनी तरफ आकर्षित करते हैं | इसलिए विद्यार्थियों को सुंदर लेख का महत्त्व समझाने के उद्देश्य से द्वारका इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के कक्षा पहली और दूसरी के विद्यार्थियों के लिए ‘25 जनवरी 2022’ को हिंदी सुलेख प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई जिसमें सभी विद्यार्थियों ने अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन किया | ऐसी प्रतियोगिताओं के माध्यम से विद्यार्थी स्वच्छ व सुंदर लेख के प्रति आकर्षित होंगे और अपने इस कौशल का विकास करेंगे |

Dussehra Celebration

Keeping the festive spirit alive Dussehra was celebrated at DIS by kindergarten students with great zeal and religious fervour vastening the horizon of learnings towards the great Indian Mythology ’Ramayana’ for our young learners.

Brief animated stories were depicted about Good’s victory over Evil when Lord Rama defeats Ravana in the great war of Ramayana. Tiny tots enjoyed the craft activities of making Ravana face masks. Through this activity the students not only learnt about importance of the festivals but also the value of honesty, respect, humility and obedience, which are the core of this tale. The kids dressed in amazingly cute ethnic wear in diversified ways to make the event come more alive with their spirit and laughters.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

 Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on 2nd October in remembrance of our beloved Father of Nation ‘Mahatma Gandhi’. On this day, we pay tribute to this great soul and acknowledge his struggles and sacrifices to make India a free country.

To make our students aware of this great freedom fighter and to honour his contributions in the Indian Freedom Struggle, Dwarka International School conducted a slogan writing activity for Class II students on October 1, 2021 during the virtual session.

The students were given an insight into the life story of Mahatma Gandhi who is more popularly known as ‘Bapu’ showcasing his childhood, education and freedom struggle. It was followed by slogan writing based on the theme of Gandhi Jayanti. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and learnt a lot about Gandhiji.

 

 

Kindergarten – PINK COLOUR DAY

As its said, “The good effects of pink kindles friendship, harmony and affection…!!”

The kindergarten students of DIS celebrated Pink Colour Day with fondness and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see our small ones in bright and jubilant shades of pink. The young ones came dressed in pink colour and brought pink coloured objects. The tiny tots participated in a variety of craft activities related to the identification of pink colour like making of pencil box, cup, clown, wall hanging, etc. The aim of the activity was to make the little ones identify pink colour in the objects they see around them. Children were explained that pink colour signifies love, beauty and kindness. They were explained how pink colour could be obtained by mixing red and white. They enjoyed a lot and simultaneously understood the aesthetic sense of pink colour leading to an accomplishment of great learning among our young learners.

KINDERGARTEN – CHEF OF THE MONTH ACTIVITY – BISCUIT TOPPING

Cooking is surely a perfect occasion to Create a Bond with kids.
The tiny chefs of DIS enjoyed the Biscuit Topping Activity. Students were anxious and mesmerised to see their beautiful creations. It was a sight to behold when children used their creativity and ofcourse the joy on their faces was a testimony of success.
Children garnished their own biscuits with the colourful & mouth watering toppings like gems, chocolate, aaloo bhujia namkeen, jam, etc. The little chefs took great care of hygiene and cleanliness while performing this activity. They had a lot of fun and learnt skills like planning, organising and self satisfaction.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. The festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav. Of all festivals Ganesh Chaturthi is the most colourful. The festival is celebrated by installing Lord Ganesha’s idol at home, or in pandals. After worship the festival ends with the immersion of the idol in the water body.

The tiny tots of DIS celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great zeal. As the song goes, ‘Oh my friend Ganesh’ – Ganesha is the most loved and favourite God of the little ones. They were narrated interesting stories about Lord Ganesha in brief. Children made sparkling Ganesha masks decorated with sequins, mirrors, studs, beads, etc. They were seen happily making the mask of their endearing Ganesha. The whole class echoed with ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ creating an exciting and blissful environment.

Janamashtmi Celebration

Celebrating Lord Krishna’s birthday, awakens the festive spirit and enchants everyone of his divine presence and playful mischiefs

Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, a divine avatar of Lord Vishnu. DIS believes in celebrating festivals with full enthusiasm and fervour. This helps the students to experience Indian Culture and Tradition at it’s best.

This festival was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the students of Kindergarten at DIS. They offered prayers, chanted hymns – “Radhe Shyam” in unison, dressed up in vibrant ethnic clothes. The students felt mesmerised by various fun filled activities like Flute making and Mataki decoration using glitters, sequins, bindis, stars, mirrors, etc.
The tiny tots were made aware of the significance of this festival by numerous scholastics conducted during the virtual sessions by their respective teachers.

35 years of Global Ozone Layer Celebration

“Ozone for life”. This year, we celebrate 35 years of global ozone layer protection. The slogan of the day, “Ozone for life”, reminds us that ozone is crucial for our life on Earth and we must continue to protect the ozone layer for our future generations also.
With an intention to commemorate the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (1987), students of Dwarka International School presented virtual assemblies, did role-plays, shared ways ,in which they can help protect the ozone layer. They took a pledge to make sincere efforts for the preservation of the ozone layer for our benefit and the benefit of our future generations.
The mission goes on! Hope this mission is successful and we all live a long and healthy life on our planet.

‘हिंदी सुलेख प्रतियोगिता’

जब भी देश की बात आती है तो हम सब एक ही बात दोहराते हैं , ” हिंदी हैं हम ,वतन हैं हिन्दोस्तां हमारा ”। यह पंक्ति सब के लिए अपने आप में एक विशेष महत्व रखती है। हिंदी अपने देश हिंदुस्तान की पहचान है। 14 सितंबर 1949 को भारत की संविधान सभा ने हिंदी भाषा को राजभाषा का दर्जा प्रदान किया था , तब से इस भाषा के प्रचार और प्रसार के लिए प्रतिवर्ष 14 सितंबर को हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाते हैं। इस दी सरकारी दफ्तरों में , स्कूलों में हिंदी प्रतियोगिता का आयोजित किया जाता है। प्रतियोगिताएँ छात्रों के लिए एक ऐसा माध्यम हैं जिनके द्वारा वह अपने ज्ञान को दिनानुदिन निखारता जाता है। छात्रों में सुंदर लेखन कार्य करने के प्रति जागरुकता उतपन करने के उद्देश्य से आज द्वारका इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के पहली और दूसरी कक्षा के छात्रों के लिए 14 सितंबर ‘ हिंदी दिवस ‘के दिन ‘हिंदी सुलेख प्रतियोगिता ‘ आयोजित की गई। ऐसे प्रतियोगिताओं के माध्यम से विद्यार्थी स्वच्छ व सुंदर लेख के प्रति आकर्षित होंगे और इस कौशल का विकास करेंगे।

This auspicious day is to spread awareness on the importance of sports and physical activities in every individual’s life. This year 2020, as we all are inside our homes due to pandemic situation spread all over the world and teachers giving virtual classes to our adorable students.
Dwarka International School celebrated this occasion by conducting a quiz activity for the students of Class 3-5 with a message that education without sports activity is incomplete
Holistic development of a student is possible only when he/she is physically fit and emotionally balanced.

Sieve of Eratosthenes – Class V
(Way to find out Prime numbers)

Sieve of Eratosthenes is a simple and ancient algorithm used to find the Prime numbers up to any given limit. It is one of the most efficient way to find prime numbers. The algorithm is named after Eratosthenes of Cyrene, an ancient Greek mathematician.
The students of class V learnt an activity “The Sieve of Eratosthenes – to sieve out Prime numbers from numbers 1 to 100”. The motive of this activity was to help the students to develop their mental abilities, sharpen the calculation skills and overcome the fear of Mathematics.
The Sieve of Eratosthenes is a fun and engaging lesson that will provide lasting benefits to students and also act as a tool to understand factors, LCM and HCF.
The students participated enthusiastically. They enjoyed the activity and made the learning event active.
Intelligent minds answered the questions based on this technique.

KINDERGARTEN- TRI – COLOUR SANDWICH MAKING ACTIVITY

Cooking with children in general whether at home or in school promotes the lifetime skill of healthy eating habits and raises awareness about the risk of eating fast/junk foods.
With the same reasons & to keep the spirit of patriotism high,
TRI – COLOUR SANDWICH MAKING ACTIVITY was organised for our kindergarten tinytots. An innovative, finger licking yet nutritious sandwich recipe was taught to the students under teacher and parental supervision. The students were explained the importance of making healthy food choices. The activity also focussed on the enhancement of their vocabulary with word’s like sliced, peeling, washing, spreading, etc. Emphasis was also given on hygiene and etiquettes while eating. All students participated in this activity very enthusiastically and enjoyed a lot.

Vedic Maths Trick- Multiply an even number by 5.

The students of class III learnt a Vedic Maths Trick- ‘Multiply an even number by 5’ under the supervision of teacher in the virtual class on May 20, 2020.
Vedic Maths is a gift to this world by the ancient scholars of India. The name Vedic Mathematics is derived from a sanskrit word ‘Veda’ which means ‘knowledge’.It is a collection of techniques to solve Maths problems in an easy and faster way. By Vedic Methods, difficult problems or long sums can be solved immediately. The simplicity of Vedic Mathematics means that calculations can be carried out mentally. Vedic tricks are easy to understand, easy to apply and easy to remember. The motive of this activity was to help the students increase their mental agility, intelligence, speed and accuracy and to become a mental calculator. The students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity.
Little champs answered the questions based on this trick.

Kindergarten Summer Season Activity

A Workshop on summer season was conducted for the tiny tots of DIS on May 21, 2020. The teachers explained the different articles we use in summer season by visual methods. Articles & objects like clothes we wear, drinks, vegetables,juices, fruits, etc were shown. The children were so fascinated to see the area decorated with things like umbrella, hat, sun glasses, etc. They were also told that we must wear summer clothes as it keeps us cool and protects us from the heat of the sun. We must drink lemonade as it helps us keep cool, and vitamin C helps us fight diseases. We must also drink lots of water to keep ourselves hydrated. The children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and learned a lot about the summer season.

क्रियाकलाप: स्वच्छ भारत अभियान

स्वच्छ बने अपना भारत देश l
हमारे प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी के दवारा स्वच्छ भारत अभियान की शुरुआत 2 अक्टूबर, 2014 में की गई थी जिसका उद्देश्य भारत को स्वच्छ बनाना है । आज सारा देश कोरोना वायरस जैसी महामारी से लड़ रहा है । इसमें स्वच्छता संबंधित जानकारी का विशेष महत्व है ।

अध्यापिका ने सफाई के महत्व पर जोर देते हुए बताया कि बार बार साबुन से हाथ धोने से हम कोरोना संक्रमण से बच सकते हैं तथा इधर उधर थूकने जैसी ख़राब आदतों से कोरोना को फैलने में मदद मिलती है l द्वारका इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के कक्षा तीसरी के बच्चों ने भी इस अभियान में अपना योगदान दिया यह जानकारी देकर कि हरे, नीले और काले रंग के कूड़ेदान का प्रयोग हम किस प्रकार के कूड़े को डालने के लिए कर सकते हैं ।सभी बच्चों ने इस गतिविधि में बढ़- चढ़ कर भाग लिया और यह कसम खाई कि वे अपने जीवन मे सदा स्वच्छता को अपनाएँगे ।

English Activity Class IV

‘Enrichment activity basically makes a subject more meaningful or more rewarding,’
Enrichment activity allows the students to look at subjects in more depth, and give them opportunities to explore and use their imagination. So to explore more about the “Sentence” activity was conducted by class IV students of Dwarka International School under the guidance of faculty on virtual medium. They explained about Sentence, it’s parts and kinds with example through the colourful flashcards. The online quiz was also conducted on the same topic. The questions were asked to them and they had to show the flashcard of the correct answer. They actively participated in the activity and wondrously showcased. The enthusiasm among the students was worth watching.

ACTIVITY : LEAF ART ACTIVITY FOR CLASS – III

A Leaf Art activity was organised for the studentsa of Class – III of Dwarka International School to bring out the creativity of the students. The students participated with high level of enthusiasm as they had recently learnt about the different types of leaves which was taught to them in the chapter “Leaves Around Us’’ in EVS.
The art works presented by these students are remarkably unique & innovative. Apart from the fun, this activity also helped the students to learn about the existence of leaves in different shapes, sizes, colour & texture. It is beyond our expectation that amidst of this tough time of lockdown, the level of participation would be so overwhelming.
The authority of DIS extends the heartiest congratulations to all the kids for their spontaneous participation in this fun filled learning activity.

<h2><strong>UKG Missing number Activity </strong></h2>
Maths can be a hit or miss subject for students.When it comes learning Maths,there is no middle ground,it has been interesting for young mind to understand.Keeping the same fact in our mind,teachers of DIS used fun and entertaining material to introduce the topic- Missing Numbers.A related story was narrated and children were encouraged to find and place all the missing numbers in proper sequence.Children understand what missing numbers are and used their number sense skills.

Class I Dance Competition

Being unique and different is part of what makes it special”. For giving wings of uniqueness to the hidden dancing talent of our students, Class 1 of Dwarka International school organised one of its kind online dance competition” DIS DANCING STARS” on May 4, 2020 where students recorded their dance performances and shared their videos. The tiny tots gave splendid performances and mesmerized the teachers and management. The zestful participation by most of the students made this competition a big hit amidst this tough time of Corona.

Labour Day Celebration – classes I and II

Labour Day Celebration by the students of classes I and II on May 1,2020. “All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity.”- By Martin Luther King Jr. 1st May is celebrated as the International Worker’s Day. It is also known as the Labour Day. On this day, we pay tribute to all the workers on our planet earth. Students and staff of Dwarka International School celebrate this special day every year with much exhilaration and this year was no exception. Amid the lockdown, when imparting education online is the new norm, staff of Dwarka International School went an extra mile to let students know the importance of the day. Students of classes I and II honoured the spirit of the workers, corona warriors (especially during this difficult time) and their contribution to the society by sketching specially designed posters and thanks giving greetings

# YOGA ACTIVITY – By Kindergarten

“Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition.It embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfillment,a holistic approach to health and well being.”With this aim in mind the school has made efforts to send some videos of yoga so that the tiny tots of LKG and UKG can benefit from it while in their home during this crucial time.Teachers also encouraged them to do regular practice of yoga as it will help the children to remain healthy and fit.Children enjoyed the yoga session very much.

VISIT TO CAMP TIKKLING ON FEB 28, 2020

It is said that one should never stop exploring and must take adventures in order to know where one truly belongs. There are a plethora of benefits of adventure training. To name a few, it strengthens students’ problem solving skills and increases their self esteem and confidence. In light of this, Dwarka International School organized an excursion trip to Camp Tikkling for class I and II students on Feb 28, 2020.

UKG- ENACT AN ADVERTISEMENT COMPETITION

An advertisement can be just about anything that draws attention to a particular thing such as a product, service or event. The purpose of advertising is to make people aware that the product exists and to entice them to try it out.

 

Enact an advertisement competition was organized for the students of UKG classes on Feb.27, 2020. Various students participated in this event and showed their talent. They wore different types of dresses and spoke few lines on their advertisement. The students participated with a lot of enthusiasm. Though each child was special and exhibited wonderfully with full confidence about their advertisement, but a little extra confidence was observed in few students which made them win. The competition helped the students enhance their skills in expressions and voice modulation.

It was an excellent learning experience.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

Dwarka International School conducted a Fancy Dress Competition for the student of class I on 25th Feb 2020. The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the students by giving them the opportunity to get the stage and speak in front of the audience.
The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talent. The students participated actively and enthusiastically in the competition.

Land and Transport Demonstration

Demonstration on means of transport has been done with the students of LKG on 19 Feb,2020. Teacher explained about the different modes of transport also asked some questions related to the topic.
Children segregated all the means of transport on their own. It was a great learning experience for them.
